School Fair

We currently need your help with the following. A Childs' Bike to raffle- at the last fair we managed to have a bike donated which was then very successfully raffled off. If any parent could help us to source a new child’s bike for the 2010 Fair please contact the office or a member of the PTA. We had a good response to our questionnaire about new stall suggestions. Of course the only way we can have new stalls is if we have volunteers to run them. If you are interested in being involved in any of the following let us know: Horizontal Bungy, Potato Shy, Treasure hunt, Obstacle course, Chocolate fishing. The sponsorship of the rides is a great way for businesses to help our Fair. We will be asking for sponsorships for all of the following: The Climbing Wall, Tots Train, Gladiators, Bouncy Castle. In exchange for support, businesses are able to supply us with advertising boards to put up around the ride. Please consider this as part of your "advertising" or "marketing" budget for next year. WANTED – FOR SCHOOL FAIR

If you have any excess plums or berries or tomatoes for jam and chutney making for the school fair, please keep them over the holidays and place in freezer, or call Raelene Balle 2388278.   Also, clean, label free jars (approx 300ml ie: jam jars), please keep them and I will collect from the office in the new school year.

Attendance Dues        

The Directors of the Auckland Common Fund Ltd have considered at length the results of the independent affordability study on the level of Attendance Dues charged in the Catholic Schools of the Auckland Diocese. After consultation with Proprietors and obtaining their support, with due consideration of the capital commitments made, and the level of debt servicing required for what is still a significant debt, the Board of Directors find it essential and have approved an increase in Attendance Dues for 2010, in line with the CPI inflation rate, as follows $87.50per term per child.

Slingshot ‘Better Schools Programme

We are now part of this wonderful programme whereby Slingshot customers can choose to have a percentage of their monthly bill donated to the school. Each month,

Slingshot will send us a cheques to use as we see fit. How big that cheque is depends on you! If you’d like this easy and pain free way to contribute please go to www.slingshot.co.nz/schools or call 0800 89 2000.

Mathletics

If your child is registered for Mathletics, parents can go online and get a Participation Summary emailed to them each week on their child’s progress and scores. Parents can go on under child’s user name and then follow the prompts. Mathletics recommend that the programme be used for at least 3 x 20min sessions a week.

Attendance Dues  

Thank you to all those families who have paid these so promptly. Any families experiencing hardship please contact the principal in confidence or alternatively parents may seek assistance through Auckland Common Fund Ltd Attendance dues Sponsorship scheme. The form for this scheme is available at our school office or by clicking here. Please note completed forms need to be forwarded directly to the diocese.

Lost Property

The lost property box is now kept in the porch of Room 4. Unclaimed items from last term have been washed and added to the second-hand shop. When purchasing uniforms through the school second-hand uniform shop could parents please re-label them. There is a need for smaller sizes of all uniform items so parents if you have items of clothing that you child has grown out of, and no one to hand them down to, please consider donating them to the uniform pool. Just bring them in to the office. Thank you.
