Road Patrollers We require parents to help next year on our pedestrian crossing before school, 8.20am -8.45 each morning. If you are able to help please contact the school office. School Uniform Thank you to the vast majority of parents who continue to ensure their children have the correct uniform items and encourage their children to wear these with pride. Parents and students are reminded a) the wearing of school sun hats outside is compulsory. b) Year 4 – 8 students need to bring their school sports uniform to school every day. Parent Helpers Wanted If any parents are able to help cut & bag numeracy resources, please contact our Deputy Principal, Ursula Hall. School Organisation for 2010 We have begun to look at the school organisation for 2010. It is imperative that we know how many children we need to cater for at each level. If you have a child or know of any child, wishing to attend St Joseph’s next year, please ensure an application for enrolment has been completed. Alternatively, if for any reason your child is not returning to St Joseph’s next year, please let the school office know as soon as possible. Parish News - Building our new St Patrick’s Church Bishop Pat has given the Parish the approval to start building our new church. We are inviting all parents to join the Parish during this exciting time, to participate in the vision and the development of St Patrick’s parish. Every family will receive our brochure and pledge card, to assist you with the opportunity to participate in walking this journey together. The brochure covers several activities you can participate in, and contribute to, including the planned giving. We encourage you to respond to our St Patrick’s Parish needs. Completed pledge cards can be returned to the special box in the church porch. H Lieshout Parish Council Chairman School Uniforms From the beginning of Term 4 all students are expected to be in summer uniform. Girls Green Summer Tunic – Available ready made from Uniform Shoppe, Manukau Road Pukekohe (next to Police Station) or patterns are available from the school second hand uniform shop and material is available from David Mills Fabrics. Boys Grey shorts (light weight) Short sleeved polo shirt available from Uniform Shoppe 19 Manukau Road, Pukekohe.Girls & Boys Black or brown sandals. The sandals must have a heel strap, and no colour variations are allowed. Roman sandals remain an acceptable option. School regulation green woollen jersey, Polar fleece Vest (optional). All pupils must wear the official school sunhat. Year 8 pupils may wear the winter uniform for Term 4 if they wish. Long hair must be kept tidy and tied back with dark green, dark brown or white hair ties. Fingernails are to be kept reasonably short and clean and no nail varnish is permitted. No jewellery, other than a watch and one pair of plain stud earrings may be worn.Some uniform items are available from Postie Plus. If buying uniform items from Postie Plus please remember to mention St Joseph’s School as we receive a cash rebate through their loyalty programme. Any families experiencing hardship please contact the principal in confidence or alternatively parents may seek assistance through Auckland Common Fund Ltd Attendance dues Sponsorship scheme. The form for this scheme is available at our school office or by clicking here. Please note completed forms need to be forwarded directly to the diocese.
